Greyton Toad Hall (built in 1855) is a new addition to the Greyton accommodation scene. With the largest pool in town- a whopping 10 by 5 m saltwater extravaganza replete with a hand painted toad in its depths, a ten seater hot tub and an 18m stoep on the best corner in town ready for you to laze on the lounges and watch the passing horses, it has it all.
As standard, it caters for group bookings (max 18) and by negotiation/additional cost- 24 persons. At times, individual rooms are also rented out.
Invertors and solar panels means guests are not affected by load shedding.
The 2000 square metre garden is full of socializing areas with hanging egg chairs, lounges, tables, one gas and two wood/charcoal braais with smoker, a wood fired pizza oven as well as a large indoor kitchen/ dining room with all your cooking and eating requirements for 22 people and a fireplace for winter months.
THE SPACE
All rooms, other than the 4 single bed family room, are ensuite and have tea/coffee making/wine and water glass facilities.
The family room, in the back cottage, has 2 bathrooms (shower/toilet) two metres away on the stoep of this cottage.
There is a communal kitchen/dining room with everything you need – 22 plates/glasses/cutlery etc, a 20l air fryer, fridge/freezer, dining table seating 12 and a fireplace.
You are in a very tranquil , fully walled garden setting- and do make use of the stoep at the front of the house which is arguably the best in town to watch the action! Just opposite The Post House Hotel Coffee Hub- you can pick up a cappuccino, or call/ visit Hemel on the opposite corner and have it delivered/ pick up breakfast for the garden or stoep to enjoy in your bathrobes.
For exclusive use bookings, the hot tub will be fired for the day you decide and for likely hour of use. Subsequent days, wood is available at supermarkets, sometimes for purchase on site or feel free to bring your own and restoke it. It takes 3 hours to fill (which we do the day before) and 8 hours to heat, so 24 hours notice is required. For individual room bookings, we charge for this service.
The Facilities
All rooms have 24/7 access to Rabbits Meadow- a communal kitchen/ dining in a cottage with all the crockery, cutlery and glassware for 22 people, cooking utensils, pots and pans, 20l air fryer (hence microwave, grill, oven etc), fridge/freezer and tables/ chairs for 12 (extra available in the garden). In addition, the pool entertainment area has a large gas braai, a charcoal/wood braai / smoker, a Weber, a wood fired drum barrel pizza oven and a fire pit with plenty of tables and chairs dotted around the pool and the garden to enjoy the mountain view.
Further, two rooms (Wild Woods and Chief Weasel) are self catering kings with a bar fridge, kettle, two plate desktop oven, toaster, coffee plunger, lots of useful utensils, pot and pans, cutlery, mugs, glasses, oil, salt and pepper.
All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, cups/saucers and wine/water glasses- and in some cases a bar fridge as well.
In summer, all rooms have fans and in winter electric blankets and spare blankets.
Bedding is by either the oh so snuggly T-Shirt Bed Company or 5 star hotel quality cotton. Hand towels, bath towels, pool towels and bathrobes are provided.
Wifi is free and there are Bluetooth Sonos speakers in the gardens to play your favourite tunes.

50% deposit required to secure booking, if arrival is less than 14 days – 100%

Group Bookings: If cancelled less than 14 days before arrival, 100% of full rate will be charged. Before that, 5% will be charged
Individual Rooms: If cancelled less than 7 days before arrival, 100% of full rate will be charged
Unfenced/uncovered pool and hot tub: any booking constitutes full acceptance of this risk and assumes all liability
Pet friendly as is walled- please note we have 2 free range chickens who put themselves to bed at sunset and feel free to close their coop- we suggest for guests bringing dogs (or indeed young children) you stay in Portly Otter or Willow Wren which has private, closable courtyards. Pet fee applies.
